Fort San Severino gets new exhibit poster!

Fort San Severino and the Slave Route Museum are getting a new poster dedicated to the only surviving wood cannon carriage at the fort today. Such wooden trucks or carriages were designed to carry the heavy cannons and to help in its transport and aim. Our poster includes not only a visual of the main features of this carriage but also the “before and after” results of a recent restoration of the piece.
The poster was designed and printed by one of us (Odlanyer), and will be donated to San Severino as our Foundation’s effort to provide better visuals to museum’s exhibits, that will not only help promote the history of the artillery used at the old fort, but also further its historical understanding.

El Castillo de San Severino y el Museo de la Ruta del Esclavo adquirirán un nuevo poster dedicado a la única cureña de madera que se conserva hoy en la fortaleza. Las cureñas eran montajes de madera sobre ruedas que servían para cargar y dirigir mejor la puntería de un cañón. En el poster se incluye no solo las características de este tipo de cureña, sino también el antes y después del proceso de conservación de la pieza.
El poster fue diseñado e impreso por uno de nosotros (Odlanyer), y será donado al Castillo de San Severino en pos de los ideales de nuestra Fundación hacia difundir nuevo conocimiento sobre nuestros tesoros nacionales. Este poster proveerá al museo con una nueva exhibición que ayudara al público visitante profundizar sobre la historia de la artillería en el viejo fuerte.
